ABOUT DEAN

DEAN

I’m Dean, aka Double D, or as my friends like to call me the “Dog Dude,” founder of Double D Dog Training and a CPDT-KA Certified Professional Dog Trainer with over 10 years of experience helping families raise happy, well-mannered dogs using positive reinforcement training methods only.

Before becoming a dog trainer, I spent more than 20 years as an enterprise software sales executive. While the industry may seem worlds apart from dog training, the skills that mattered most—listening, clear communication, patience, and problem-solving—are the very same skills that make a great dog trainer!

My journey into dog training began with a simple realization when I took my old Bichon Louie to dog training many years ago:
Dogs learn best when they are understood, not intimidated.

That belief led me to pursue professional certification and dedicate my career to humane, science-based training methods that build trust, confidence, and lasting results. Since launching Double D Dog Training in 2017, I’ve worked with over 2,000 dogs and their families, specializing in:

  • Puppy training and Early socialization

  • Basic and Advanced obedience training

  • Crate training and potty training

  • Leash walking and manners

  • Resource guarding and Separation anxiety

  • Real-world, in-home behavior solutions

I focus on private, in-home training, because every dog and family is unique. My goal isn’t just to train your dog—it’s to teach you how to communicate Clearly, Consistently, and Positively with your dog long after our sessions are complete.

Clients often tell me they feel calmer, more confident, and more connected to their dog after training—and that’s the greatest success I could ask for.

At Double D Dog Training, my philosophy is simple:

Training should be effective, humane, and enjoyable—for both you and your dog.
